Screening at 45 (updated guideline)
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common, and most deadly, of cancers. For this reason, colon cancer screening is recommended for everyone over the age of 45. The good news is colon cancer is 90% preventable when detected early, so we’re glad you’re considering a screening. These exams save lives. Preventing this disease is our driving passion at Salem Gastro.

Hepatitis C Treatment
Salem Gastro has the only gastroenterologists in the mid-Willamette valley offering treatment for the Hepatitis C virus.
Using the most up-to-date methods and medication, we customize treatment based on your individual needs to increase chances of a cure. Along with your physician, we have a team of care providers to help you every step of the way.
Lab Services
For your convenience, Salem Health has laboratory services for blood draws as well as urine and stool samples in our building on the 4th floor. Results are sent directly to your chart electronically, offering you faster results. Salem Health has several locations (listed below) and can bill most insurance companies directly.

Lab and Pathology Results
In most cases you should receive results for your lab test or biopsy sample via letter or phone call within 2-3 weeks. If you have any questions about a result feel free to call our nursing department to discuss with our staff.
Call Volume
With ongoing staffing shortages and very high call volumes, we are requesting your patience when calling the office and leaving a voice message.
Our goal is to return calls promptly, but in some cases we are not able to return calls until the next business day.

Allison Ward, PA-C is no longer with Salem Gastro. If you have been under her care or are on her schedule, one of our other providers will be glad to see you. We have thorough patient records. Our scheduling team will contact you to schedule a new appointment if required. If you have any questions or concerns contact our office and use option 1 to speak to a scheduler.
